My name is Andrés Arosemena and I am a freelance visual effects and motion graphics artist.
Ever since I was a kid I have been fascinated by magic. When I started watching movies I thought of them as a kind of magic too, specially movies with visual effects. The magic of creating the impossible and making the audience believe it is real, or at least make their experience feel real.
I have an innate curiosity for how things work and how they get made. When I was very young I used to take apart electronic equipment just to figure out how it functioned. Sometimes
even changing them to perform in a different ways. Because of that curiosity I love watching the behind the scenes of movies and tv ads to learn how they achieved several shots. I like spending time reading and watching videos about new techniques (for vfx, animation, etc), articles, interviews, and applying new knowledge to personal projects or clients' work to improve my skills. I enjoy immensly creating something new using technology at my advantage.
In 2004 I graduated from IGAD, where I studied Computer Graphics and learned animation, compositing, design, editing, photography, 3d modeling, storytelling, and more subjects related.
I have been working in the industry since 2002 doing various kinds of works for tv ads, tv shows, shortfilms, product presentations, btl activities, music concerts, websites, etc. I have worked at production houses and agencies as part of creative teams and sometimes as the leader of projects. I have also worked developing complete projects on my own.
My VFX on feature films include:
- The Drift (2014) - http://bypuk.com/movies/drift/
- Entre Sombras: Averno (2016)
I also produce complete videos (shoot, edit, color grade, post) for Kids Moments and Love Moments.
I am available for freelance work, contact me to talk about your project.
